Well I wonder can my children help me clean? Why is it that when you start to clean up they do well, then get distracted? How can you keep them on track? Is it that much to ask for to pick up your toys? I guess it is.

I have my almost 3 year old clean up with me every night before he goes to bed... it's become part of our bedtime routine. It took a few months to get established, but he gets it now. I always clean with him for now, because it helps him stay on task. He only lasts 2 minutes if I am not "helping" him. I think the important thing right now is to teach the concept of cleaning up after oneself, and eventually they will be able to complete it on their own.
